For the love of music and for all those who believe in music, “A House and A Guitar” is organizing a rock concert named “A Home Bound“ on the 6th of July 2013 at YAC ground Imphal, Manipur. This concert will carry the theme - “Give music a chance”.
“A House and A Guitar” has organized various awareness programs and events to bring out “Music” in the main-stream. This time, we are planning to organize the concert as a project where we would mainly focus on orphans and special children and help them discover their love for music and bring out their hidden talents. Though it is a rock concert it would be a formal program, reaching out to our special invitees which includes the honorable Yaiskul Constituency MLA, Social Welfare Minister, Govt. of Manipur and Arts and Culture Directo, Govt. of Manipur. With their extended help we are hoping for a successful event throughout.
Two such institutions in Imphal have given their heart and soul to uplift the lives of these children who have somehow been neglected. One is the “Tera Children Home (Orphanage)” which is a private NGO plan which consists of around 50 children and the other is “G. B. Paul Mongshangei (Home for special children)” which is a Govt. funded (biggest of its kind in Manipur). We’re glad that through music, we are able to reach out and give a little support to these children. Our objective is to present the children in the concert with an opening song in the event. Prior to the concert, we’re also conducting music classes to the children for about a week & distribute gift items to the children.
The event will be introduced by a special “Manipuri Folk-Fusion” performance followed by the “Rock Show”. We are still working on the necessary field works and sponsors. We look forward to your continued support in taking the cause forward.
